Suspect in Foley beheading was once rapper known as 'L Jinny'

Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, who was once a rapper known as L Jinny or Lyricist Jinn and who is now an Islamic State terror operative, is a suspect in the beheading of US journalist James Foley, the British newspaper The Independent reported on Saturday.

Islamic State insurgents released a video last week purportedly showing the beheading of Foley, who had gone missing in Syria nearly two years ago, and images of another US journalist whose life they said depended on US action in Iraq.

The video, titled “A Message To America,” was posted on social media sites.

According to the report, Bary once had a “rising music career” with music videos and his music being played on BBC radio in 2012.
